3 tips to prep for a brand new week.

If you’re anything like me, you love to soak up every last drop of the weekend. Because it’s your time to just. do. you.

Whether that’s kicking back and catching up on your favorite Netflix show, eating a delicious brunch in the sun with your friends, or going on a little out-of-town adventure with the kiddies.

Saturday and Sunday are 100% yours.

While we all look forward to Friday and the two days we get to recharge, weekends also give us the beautiful opportunity to be intentional with our time. And the more intentional we are, the better we feel as we transition into Monday.

That’s why I started a Sunday evening ritual. Instead of spending every ounce of the day busy or watching episodes of Mad Men until bedtime, I set aside just one little hour for me.

I’ve found that doing three simple things gets me prepared, organized, and set up for success for the week ahead, and I wake up Monday morning with a clear vision of what I have to accomplish.

No scrambling. No skipping breakfast. No nauseating anxiety.

  1. Write out my to-do list. There’s nothing worse than waking up on a Monday morning and having no idea what your first priority of the day is. Writing out everything I have to get done for the coming week, always makes me feel totally on top of my project deadlines and client needs.
  2. Plan out my workouts. I recently joined ClassPass and love that I can book a variety or workout classes in advance. It’s essential that I pop those bad boys into my calendar before the week starts, otherwise I won’t make time for it and that’s just no bueno for not only my body, but also my mind.
  3. Set intentions for the week. I love setting intentions. Simply declaring or writing down how I’d like the week to go significantly lessens overwhelm and anxiety. I usually write out a few words or phrases to call in the energy of a brand new week.

For example:

  • I want to feel confident and at ease as I begin my work on Monday.
  • I want seamless access to my creativity so writing projects flow.
  • I want to have fun every day no matter what I’m doing.

Just three simple things like this can completely shift your perspective and energy about the coming week. It empowers you to still enjoy every minute of your Saturday and Sunday, while also making you feel much more grounded and in control of what’s to come.
